Tybee at a glance
- 3 miles of Atlantic beachfront, a public pier, and the historic Tybee Light Station
- About 18 miles — roughly 30 minutes — east of downtown Savannah

- Island specifics to weigh: flood zones, elevation, dune/DNR setbacks, deep-water access
Also known as Savannah Beach, Tybee Island is a barrier island east of Savannah where shrimping and fishing are prevalent. Dolphin tours, kayaking and other water sports create a beach goers paradise. Casual and fine dining opportunities are offered by the many restaurants on the island. Although Tybee Island appeals to visitors, there are over 3500 year-round residents who call Tybee home and enjoy the local parks, library, walking and biking paths. History finds its place on Tybee, with the presence of Fort Screven, Officer's Row homes and the Historic Tybee lighthouse (climb to the top if you wish). Homesites include condominium complexes with amenities, townhomes, quaint beach cottages and single-family homes, many with ocean views.

Looking in Tybee? Your agent should work for you.
Tybee comes with island-specific questions — flood zones and elevation, short-term-rental rules, dune and DNR setbacks, and the premium ocean or deep-water frontage commands. As an exclusive buyer’s agency, EBR never represents the seller, so when you’re weighing a Tybee cottage or a back-river dock home, the only interests at the table are yours.
